Playful Connect met Floris Hovers
Ontwerper en kunstenaar Floris Hovers laat in de Grote Kerk Breda zijn fantasiestad zien. Een stad die voortdurend in beweging is, verandert en groeit. Met deze installatie deelt Hovers zijn kijk op het stedelijke, op architectuur, kleur en het speelse element waar naar zijn idee zo’n tekort aan is in de huidige maatschappij en wereld om ons heen. De Grote Kerk Breda is een passende locatie voor zijn werk. Het monument is al eeuwenlang ook altijd in beweging. De kerk is uitgebreid, gerestaureerd en kunstenaars voegen nieuw werk toe; tijdens tentoonstellingen of binnenkort permanent aan de gevel. Tegenwoordig is de Grote Kerk Breda een huis van verhalen, waar iedereen welkom is om kennis te maken met een vernieuwend en divers programma. Een programma dat de verhalen van nu koppelt aan het eeuwenoude rijksmonument en ze in een breder perspectief plaatst.

With this installation, Hovers shares his vision on urban life, architecture, color, and the playful element he believes is sorely lacking in today’s society and the world around us. The Grote Kerk Breda is a fitting location for his work. The monument has itself been in motion for centuries – expanded, restored, and enriched by new artworks added by artists during exhibitions or, soon, permanently to the façade. Today, the Grote Kerk Breda is a house of stories, where everyone is welcome to engage with an innovative and diverse program. A program that connects contemporary stories with the centuries-old national monument, placing them in a broader perspective.
